for her to make her holy,
cleansing her by the washing

Can a mother forget the baby at her
breast and have no compassion

My command is this: Love each other

No one has ever seen God;
but if we love one another,
God lives in us and his love
is made complete in us.
Greater love has no one than this:

what great love the Father
has lavished on us, that we should be
called
children of God! And that
is what we are! The reason the world

know us is that it did
not know him.

‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
There is no commandment greater than these.

Who
shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall trouble or hardship or
persecution
or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
For the Spirit God gave us does
not make us timid, but gives
us power, love and self-discipline.
If I give all I possess to the poor
and give over my body to hardship that
I may boast, but do not have love,
I gain nothing.
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.
But you, man of God, flee from all this,
and pursue righteousness,
godliness, faith, love, endurance
and gentleness.
By day the Lord directs his love,

This is love: not that we loved God,
but that he loved us and sent his Son as an
atoning sacrifice for our sins.
But I tell you, love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you.
And walk in the way of love,

gave himself up for us as a
fragrant offering and
sacrifice to God.
